Adding and Customizing Task Board columns.
Can other Columns be added to the Task board by updating the configuration file. We have 6 states (Queued, Requirements, Development, QC, Doc, Ready) that we want to track on the task board? Also can the background color of individual columns be changed with the style sheets?

Urban Turtle does not allow you to change the number or the look of columns on the Task board. You can however map multiple states to each of the columns to ease state transitions. Please see this question for more information.Comment

Thanks for the response Louis. We were thinking of using the task board for our Kanban process, which means we would visually need to have a column for each state. I tried to edit the config file, style sheet, jscript, and aspx to accomplish this, but it looks like "Todo, InProgress, Done" are embedded in the code. Is there any plan to add column expansion to the next update?

Not in the next update, but it is on our backlog. This is a common scenario, although we would prefer to deliver a true Kanban experience than just tacking on Kanban support on a Scrum task board.
