Customize checkmark hover text (e.g. from "Approve" to something else)

I would like customize the checkmark hover text from "Approved" to something else. I have changed our template to have a Ready state instead of an Approved state and would like to customize the checkmark hover text. In fact, it would be helpful if I could display a custom message like "Please press check to mark the story READY" or similar. Even just displaying a single word like "Ready" would be helpful.
