I don't seem to have the Burndown button available, is that because it is not available in the free version or is there some way it needs to be configured?
I'm running version 3.7.

I have blogged about how to enable the real-time burndown with MSF Agile 5.0. Check it out!

It is most likely because you are using a process template which does not define a Sprint work item type that specifies iteration start and end dates. This is required to enable the burndown. This is supported by default with the Scrum 1.0 and Scrum for Team System v3 process template. However, MSF Agile 5.0 does not have the required work item type.
If you are using MSF Agile 5.0 or a process template without a Sprint work item type, it is possible to add one to your project. We have done so ourselves, because our project is based on MSF Agile 5.0 and we wanted to benefit from the real-time burndown in Urban Turtle. -
